Project overview
Migration Flavours was a community engaged art project that highlighted migration stories from Latin American youth. In June 2022, thirteen Latin American newcomer teens participated in the community kitchen program at the Britannia Community Centre. La Libélula Cooperative partnered with youth worker Stephanie Angel-Garay and artist Yunuén Perez-Vertti to document the youths' stories.
We produced a short film called Migration Flavours.
Project goals
Engaging and create spaces for connection for newcomer Latin American youth in a meaningful way through food highlighting their migration stories.
Make visible the stories of migration of the Latin American community to the general public.
